    Very minimal post.
Didn’t take me long to read.

It can have so many meanings: the silence of peace, the silence that is forced, the silence of friends together, the silence of sadness, the silence of despair, the silence of loneliness, the silence of fulfilled love.

I thought I’ll end with something positive.

Thought of another one, Silence of fear.
    Oh, dear, not positive
Silence of concentration, meditation: the silence in your mind.

Pure silence often terrifies me, like the silence-before-a-strom type ….

Since blogging is a form of communication, I had to think about what you aimed to communicate in a post without words, which are, of course, the main way in which we communicate in blogs.

The variety of responses points to the many ways in which silence can be perceived. Could silence be a form of communication? I don’t know. More likely, silence offers the opportunity for spirit and self to hear each other, and perhaps that is what you wanted your readers to realize, but perhaps not. In any event, I think we’ve each taken something valuable from it. Thank you for introducing a new perspective.

I am in the camp in Al Hassa and I hear the wind rustling through the barbed wire. Parveen’s eyes burn into my own. We stand in silence. Then a guard begins to shout at us.

To aMmAr. He said, “By the way its quite hard to make a woman go silent.” Sorry to say this, are you a male chauvinist? I have a problem with that.
