I did not appreciate Iran until 1) my brother married an Iranian girl, and 2) I started reading your blog, and 3)Iranian films, subtitled in English, have entered the market here.
Now I wish I could visit. Maybe someday, if the political tension is relieved, and my pocketbook permits more international travel. In the meantime, I shall keep reading.

I really want to see Iran but the hijab thing makes me nervous. I heard once that women who wear lipstick have their lips chopped off! I know that isn’t true but it scared me.
I want to see Iran because I love the architecture and the lights and dry fruit and I LOVE you

Hi, I would also like to visit Iran, maybe after some years, but I don’t know what to do there, I would like to go to Tehran because its almost the only place in Iran I have heard about…and also I wonder if a woman can go there alone? I will wear a scarf of course, but is it possible for a woman to travel alone in Iran? (Or to Tehran especially)
Take care,
Hanna

multiculturalwannabe, oh of course you can travel alone all over Iran. I myself lived alone in Tehran and another city for about 7 years and half of my life i was traveling. lol
Achelois, LOL, so my lips would be completely disfigured till now. I always have make up on my lips and my eyes and wear colorful dress.
The only thing is mandatory of Hijab. Otherwise, there is no problem. Esp for tourist women they’re very free to wear pants and blouse too.

I wanted to see Iran since I was a young girl. I like dressing like Iranian girls. But I don’t think I can get there, ‘coz my hubby is not interested in traveling. I plan to ask to Allah to allow me to see the places I wanted to see on earth, once I reach Janna, Insha Allah. Sounding childish? But I am really serious about this, and working towards reaching Janna.
I want to see the architecture and design of old Iranian buildings, because I’ve read that its beautiful. I also love Iranian chocolates that I get in UAE ( they are really big!). Another thing I like about Iran is their movies. Language is a problem, but I watch them with English subtitles.

Ordinary Girl, Iran is not that expensive country for non-iranians. I also heard some tourists traveled to Iran by bicycle. I would love to try it really.. It would be a wondeful and cheaper trip every every i go..
Najeeba, Insha’allah you’ll convince your husband and you travel together all over the world.. Just ask it from God.. He will give you whatever you want 100%..
Aafke, awwwwww, you remember we searched the agencies to find one who offer trip to Iran? lol

Financial disaster, the very universal issue for women. Feminine issue?
Hey it’s cheap in Iran if you have Euro.. I bet.. We can buy those fashionable Mantous i showed you.. I think selling 1 or 2 saddles are enough..

The chimneys need repairing! Nothing feminine about it! It’s going to cost as much as the expensive trips we found on the internet!

I só much want to travel!
July 3, 2008 at 2:22 pm

Iran would be on my list of places to see if only the political climate was a bit better…. it’s not that far from the Middle East where my dad goes often for business… a cousin actually lived in Bander Abbas…
