Einstein And I

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. … I get most joy in life out of music.”  -Albert Einstein

Sometimes i think he said this sentence for me.. Albert Einstein and I have something in common..

A very old song “Khousheh Chin” - Singer: Hussain Banan , Master of Traditional Persian Music

I, too, am in brilliant company. Music is magic. How do you discover new and wonderful music? I listen to Pandora, internet music from The Music Genome Project:

    http://www.pandora.com/mgp.shtml

You create your own radio stations, and train the program to bring you exactly the kind of music you love. I’ve discovered wonderful music there I’d have never found on my own.

Marahm, I listen to every song that really touch my heart. My taste is quite diverse, but most i love classical, traditional and folk music plus light music, great symphonies and opera. I also love those old songs which have been whispered and transformed verbally or on disks of gramophone. This one i put here has been recorded from gramophone disk as well. lol

I know i am alittle ancient! For persian music, i have a wonderful collection here, whether i bought or i downloaded from the net or i got from this or that friend. For new songs, i download from here:

Love your post. Love the picture, the quote and the song. Yes music is one of the joys of life.

  6. Shahrzad Says:

~W~, This quote just took me thinking for awhile. I thought If i did not study physics, i would be an musician too. Sure there are many similarities between physics and music..

  7. UTP Says:

einstein with his hair-do would made a great ROCKer…although he would fade away like the rest of the big rocksters of the past…

I am glad he became a physicist heheh…although that meant tougher physics studies in school but good for him…

  8. Shahrzad Says:

UTP, lol, Einstein used to be classical Violinist. You’re right that nowadays music stars disapear so quickly. But for example Chopin still has lovers of his music.
BTW, Physics is not really tough. It’s the most soft, intellectual and sweet science. It has strong ties with nature and art, usually physicists are artist too. ;)

My friend, Bashar, used to play me music in every language he could, and I would usually know what it was about. I suppose because it was classical–but still–I think music is a universal known.

    This site is very nice.

May I recommend a book? “Musicophilia” by Oliver Sacks is great! He’s a neurologist, worte several best-selling books the most known of which is “Awakenings” (Filmed with Robin Williams). In “Musicophilia” he explains how music affects to the human brain and tells touching stories about some of his patients. I bet you’ll love it!
