‘Modest’ Car Of Iran

Iran has announced plans for a new car designed specially for women.
Its features will include automatic transmission, parking and navigation aids and a jack for changing tyres without getting grease on women’s hijab.
Iran’s biggest car producer, Iran Khodro, says it will come in a range of feminine colours and interior designs.
Other features are proposed to make it easier for women when they are doing the family shopping or taking their children to school. Source

‘Modesty bikes’

Last year, Iran’s Islamic authorities passed a bill promoting the production of a bicycle especially designed for women, that will conceal the rider’s legs and upper body. Iranian women are advised to refrain from cycling, in order to preserve their modesty, and are banned from riding motorcycles, except as passengers. Source

P.S: I wonder how mind of these Iran Khodro inventors works after all!!

I’m neither a feminist, nor a sexist. Let me just discuss it from a ‘humanistic’ point of view. It seems there are some interesting facts about Iranian society that Iran Khodro’s leaders have forgotten to point out. Car prizes in Iran are so high and expensive in compare of people’s salary. Esp the foreigner ones due to double expensive Tax.

Not many Iranians can buy different famous brands which you get easily in any other Mid East countries. So they end up buying Iranian-made cars which are not really as fine to get to international standards. Sometimes you buy a first hand car and suddenly after 2 days you have to take it to be fixed completely!

BTW, in Iran most families have just one car that all family members use it. Mean there are not many people who can afford to buy two or three cars. So an Iranian family prefers to buy a normal ‘human’ car instead of throwing his money out to buy a ‘feminine’ car.

From all this, one can get the idea that kinda inventions are pretty useless and just spending national money on incapable projects. Also they can just simply sell those more features for example jack separately.

It would be more appropriate if Iranian Car companies-which are mostly governmental- try to spend their money for offering better services or at least try to produce safer cars for human beings based on international standards !!

I promise it will be far more better. I prefer a car which i dont be afraid every minute that i will be murdered in accidents while driving it. What i do if i do not want anybody makes me ‘feminine’ car? HUH?
