Circle Of Unity

“And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah stretches out for you, and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah’s favour on you; for you were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, you became brothers; and you were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make His Signs clear to you: That you may be guided.” (3:103)

I liked we bloggers could finish Quran together in several times. All Together. It could be a spiritual connection between us, without concentrating on sects and school of thoughts.

For sake of Unity,

I liked to hold fast with you all by the rope,

Which Allah stretches out,

For all of us…

You can read story of the idea here. There is an easy way. No pressure on You. Every person read a quarter of a Hizb of Quran. That’s enough? More or less? It helps You also to consider on meaning, even Tafseer and think about it. At last you are part of a big group and read Quran with them; With Ummah El Wahidah insha’allah.

Short term goal is every one who wanna participate in this program, simply leaves his/her name in comment. I will tell him/her that which verses is for him/her.

That’s my longterm goal that after a while, automatically everyone who has left a comment, will see the last comment have chosen which quarter of hizb. Then he/she goes to choose next quarter. Mean when the first comment has chosen 1st quarter of 1st Hizb, the 2nd comment chooses 2nd quarter of 1st Hizb. The 3rd comment automatically will choose the 3rd quarter and the 4th comment will do it for 4th quarter of 1st Hizb. When a Hizb get finished, others start from next Hizb, again in this way. May we arrive in this goal too.. ;)

The main aim is not just complete reading Quran. We want muslims try to do a job together, may it help them to learn about each other more, love each other, tolerate each other ideas and leave conflicts.. Maybe it is not a big movement for it, yet it is a start for sake of Unity (Wahdah) without focusing on sects and school of thoughts. It is just a start and of course every start is a continuation.. Let’s see how many times we can finish Quran.. Bismillah :)

Thank you Shahrzad for allowing me to be a part of the Circle of Unity. I found a site through USC which has the Koran translated online…this works out just perfect when at work at my desk. You made my day by saying you like my name. When I was born in Bolivia and when I was going to be baptized (I converted to Islam from being a Catholic), my name back then in Spanish was considered “a (((horrible))) [it means, savage]) name, and when I would tell me people my name, nobody ever believed me…I loved reading again 2:233-2:242, now which please? and bless you for this time-consuming venture…

    ………………..

With you honey, we finished sura Al-Nisa’.. Behamdillah ;)

  61. Barbara Says:

Shahrzaad, allow me to share a beautiful song this Ramadan holiday regarding the beauy of Islam and submission?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG0uhRIxOe8&mode=related&search=

I have no idea what is being said, but my heart tells me it’s beautiful…

  62. Ali Imran Says:

    Salaam,

(4:148) – (4:162) is basically divided into 3 parts. 1st part says that Allah does not like when muslimin & muslimah talk bad about other people. The 2nd part says that if a person says “We follow and believe a part of the teachings and not on the other part of the teachings of Islam.”, then the person is a true Kafir and punishment waits for him. A true Muslim believes and follows ALL the teachings of Islam and does not choose which part he likes. The 3rd part explains Allah’s punishment towards the Jews for continuing to disobey Allah’s orders.

On a personal note, part 1 and 2 is something that all of us can relate to. There are people who are Muslims by name but not by actions. Everyday I pray that Allah protect me from these kind of people and protect my Iman. It is the imperfection of humans that we tend to say bad things about others, not caring whether it is true or not. It is something that we all have to watch out for.

I would like to ask for more verses to read my sister. Save and pacify my soul with more verses of the Quran.

    Salaam
    …………………………………

    Your new set:

    43 <– From (5:12) to (5:26)

With you we finished Hizb 11 :)

  64. Ali Imran Says:

    Salaam sister,

(5:1) to (5:11) is very interesting and easy to understand as they are Muhkamaat (clear and of strict meaning) verses. However I had a bit of a problem understanding verses 1-5 until I realised a very important fact about this surah. This surah was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during his final pilgrimage (Wada’ Pilgrimage).

(5:1) – (5:5) talks mostly on the proper way of slaughtering and what meats are haram. These verses also say that pilgrims are not allowed to hunt (and slaughter) during the pilgrimage unless it is to bring them closer to Allah (Eidul Adha).

(5:6 – 5:7) commands us to do ablution before praying. Should a person had performed junub, then they should bathe and should there be no water, the person should tayamum b4 praying.

(5:8 – 5:11) commands all true muslimin & muslimah to be fair, just and honest.

Personally, these verses are beautiful especially Verse 3 when it said:

“….This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”

This was the FINAL revelation given to our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH. I cannot help but be reduced to tears when I understood this verse. Tears of joy that on that day, Islam became perfect. Nothing more can be taught about our beautiful Islam. Tears of sadness were also shed. With this revelation, the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH was nearing its end. Remembering how in the end, while Prophet Muhammad PBUH life was slowly being pulled by Izrail, his final words were “my ummah, my ummah”. His love for us was so deep. He had done so much to guide us to the right path that is Islam.

I long to meet our Prophet Muhammad PBUH. I long for qiyamah when I can finally meet him and Allah.

Dear brothers and sisters, love our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH as much as he loves us, for in loving him will increase our love to Allah and be closer to Allah.

Sister, I would like to ask for more verses to read please.
    ……………………
It was one the most wonderful tafseer i read here. I almost cried. I pray right now, for that day, all muslims be in love with Ummah, as much as our prophet was in love with Ummah. And that day all muslims reach to grade of understanding prophet’s love to them and appreciate great meaning of being Muslim.. Ameen.. I particularly pray for you dear brother, if you have not gone to hajj, may God give you the chance to go, and if you have gone to hajj, may God give you the chance to go again..
    Thank you so much..
You start from Hizb 12 behamdillah

  69. Ali Imran Says:

    Salam,

Amin. Thank you for your prayer sister. Your prayer has made me yearn to be a guest in Baitullah and Masjeed el-Nabawi. Insha Allah it will come true one day.

5:27 – 5:31 tells the story of the sons of Prophet Adam, Habil and Qabil and how Qabil murdered Habil. It also tells us the history of why we bury those who have passed away.

5:32 – 5:40 are Muhkamaat verses which shows the punishment for some specific crimes such as murder, stealing and disturbing the peace.

I pray to you my sister that Nur will always shine on you and that Allah gives you bountiful rizq. Your initiative has made me understand the Quran in a much more deeper level. Arabic is not my native language but this program has helped me understand the meanings of the Quran and be closer to Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Thank you sister.

I would like to ask for more verses to read please.
    ………………………
That was very beautiful Verses. Thank you sincerely for your Du’a..Insha’allah.. Ameen.. That’s a job we all do together for sake of God and i could not do it alone. Thank You all.. :)
    Your New Set:

    46 <– From (5:51) To (5:66)

  70. Shahrzad Says:

“44. It was We who revealed the law to Moses. therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed as in Islam to Allah’s will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law. for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah’s book, and they were witnesses thereto. therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah has revealed, they are no better than Unbelievers.

    45. We ordained therein for them: “Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.” But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by the light of what Allah has revealed, they are No better than wrong-doers.

    46. And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.

    47. Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah has revealed, they are no better than those who rebel.

    48. To you We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety. so judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that has come to you. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but His plan is to test you in what He has given you. so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah. It is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;

    49. And this He commands, Judge You between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile You from any of that teaching which Allah has sent down to You. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah’s purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.

    50. Do they then seek after a judgment of the days of ignorance? But who, for a people whose faith is assured, can give better judgment than Allah. ” (5:44 to 50)

P.S: Those verses are part of my set in Circle Of Unity; Quran Reading Circle. That’s really beautiful. And show how Islam confirms prophets who have came before Muhammad (Pbuh) and much respect them and ask us to love them too. I loved my verses. And i love all prophets who came to purify human being spiritually and physically. Who came to guide us to true path and tolerate all trouble reactions by patience for sake of God and save humanity of human being.. May God bless all prophets and guide us to His true path insha’allah.. :)

  99. Najeeba Says:

    Salam again!
Can I have my second set of Ayaths? And here I put the summary of my first set of Ayaths.
Summary of Quarter of the Hizb (7:47 – 7:64):
The Quarter of the Hizb starts with explaining about the people of A’raf. Allah assures that they will also go to heaven. Allah then describes the agony of the people in hell, when they ask water to those in heaven. Allah tells us about the book, the Quran, in which he told all people about the Last Day of Judgment, but the dwellers of the hell never gave it a thought, and so they became the losers.
Next, the ayaths explains the Greatness of Allah, how he created the world in six days, and then rose on his throne on the seventh day. He has put the earth in order and advices us not to make mischief on it. He also speaks about the wind, clouds, wind, rain, land and agriculture.
Allah then Narrates the story of Prophet Nuh(PBUH), when he made the ship and he with his followers escaped in it while the unbelievers were drowned.
Thank you for this wonderful work. Usually during Ramdan, I try to finish the whole Quran once, without going for the meaning. But with this project, I try to understand the meaning of the ayaths I get.
    Wassalam.
    ……………………..
Of course you can have as many sets you want. Waw, Thank you for this sammery. so beautiful. Considering the meaning is always so enjoyable. I like those ayat about creation of the universe in 6 days.
May God shower you with His grace and blessings.
