how dare you are to say islam is the best religion.come on grow up and think about freedom.why iranian think they can be moral under Islam role.If You keep a theif in prison he never be able to steal.Human being should think about God as a lover ,supporter ….,they should know there is no fire in hell or redundents in heaven waiting for them.I m so sorryfor myself .these arabs imported their f……..religion to Persia.

Just wanted to mention that majority of Iranian artists and poets were not Islamic influenced. Some of them were even anti-Islamic.
You mention Hafez and Khayam !!
Dear brother it is a well known fact by majority of scholars that Hafez, and specially Khayam were basically believing in Mitraic and Zoroasterian faith (Pagan, Kafar) which were pre-Islamic Persian religions.
All I would say is just read some of Khayam, all he talks about is wine, wine !!

My heavens, I can’t believe how much subtle bigotry there is here…I think the funniest part is the rumor that “70% of American men beat their wives”. LOL! This statistic is not true in ANY society. And this kind of man being smarter or this kind of woman being more beautiful — not stated as personal preferences, but stated as facts!
Wow. Simply amazing.
Would it surprise anyone here, for example, that I have never met an Iranian man who wasn’t the opposite of what the author here writes about? Okay, maybe I’ve met one. But the rest simply are not as bad as is claimed here.
But then I’m a Westerner and also a man, so I am by definition disqualified to comment on these issues because I am irreligious and ignorant and I beat my wife….

May they slaughter as many sons of Gaza Strip residence as possible, which during the past 4 decades, the population has been quadrupled in this area.

The hijab is a symbol of patriarchy and male oppression. You wear it either as a silly fashion accessory, through community pressure, or through fear of being raped, spat at or arrested by the PASDARAN and taken to Evin Prison. It is very sad that an Iranian woman should think of Islam as a ‘beautiful’ religion. What’s beautiful about my former faith? I can’t think of anything and I was a very conservative Muslim up until I became mutrhad. The fact that most people here are bored, lonely, sex starved men proves my point. I feel really sorry for Muslims, because the men are sexual perverts mostly, I think, like Muslim women, they are also VICTIMS of Al Islam. Guys, you are so desperate for sex, don’t you realize that while you are forced to waste your time searching every corner of the internet, degrading yourselves, humiliating yourselves-like dogs, your leaders are rich and have the one thing you don’t have- WOMEN!! I think this blog is somehow very pathetic, sweet, but pathetic,
and beneath its pretty pages lie Muslim cockroaches crazy for sex. I hope you leave Islam, like me, and STOP this madness which is driving you all insane.

Shahrzad, I am not criticizing you by the way, please, let me make that clear. I admire the work you have done here, i just think Islam is not the answer, sorry, but that’s my position, and I invite you to reconsider the role of women in Islam, as I have done. Are you really free? Even in the west, are we free as women? I would say no on both accounts. I think you ought to look at radical femimist literature, why don’t you? If you don’t change, you will just become hypocrites and a joke among nations, people who like schizophrenics talk about sex and allah, allah and sex, sex and allah, allah and sex- which is what YOU do do on these kind of blog sites! You are very conflicted people actually and Islam is only going to make life worse, it is the source of your pain and terrible sexual frustration, Iranian people, and yet, like heroin addicts, you crave the posion which is killing you. I left Islam- so can YOU.
Iran WAS a great country, under Darius, Xerxes, Cambyses, now it is a nation of sex starved teenagers obsessed with religion. It is very very sad.

A definition of freedom? That’s not hard, I want women in Iran to be free to be like me, to remove the hijab, to walk in the sun without fear, to go to the ski slopes outside Tehran and have fun without the religious police.I want women to be free of rape, sexual abuse and male tyranny and I want everyone to have the right to LEAVE ISLAM, if that’s what they want. I think that’s a good working definition to start with. Your last phrase is funny: In this way, maybe who want to wear hijab, wear it in its true way and don’t be labeled for what some other women wear. And who don’t want to be veiled, at least don’t make joke by this beautiful religion!
Islam is a joke so the poor women who are being opressed are not the ones making it so ridicolous. Also it is not for you or Khomenei to decide who wears what in the name of whatever religion, you should mind your own business. You and most islamic/religious people are really confused, i feel sorry for you and also for the world for the bad things religious people have done to our beautiful planet.
